Sometimes I Lie by Alice Feeney is a chilling debut novel that you will not put down until the last sentence is devoured. This psychological thriller is in the vain of Gone Girl and is sure to keep you awake long after you have finished reading. Definitely one of the best this year.
At this point I usually give a synopsis of the plot; however, this time it is impossible to without some sort of spoiler and I hate spoilers. Believe me, this book is too good and you will be thanking me after you read it. Instead I am just giving you the blurb from the book.
“My name is Amber Reynolds. There are three things you should know about me:
1. I’m in a coma.
2. My husband doesn’t love me anymore.
3. Sometimes I lie.”
I loved this book so much because it was chilling and so many unexpected things happened. The story is so good and you get drawn in right at the beginning; but be warned, you might be tempted to rush through to see what happens next. Don’t rush you will miss some of the clues and not understand all the intricacies of the plot. Then you have this unexpected and delicious twist at the very end. I actually had to read the last couple of paragraphs twice more. Then as it sank in, I was like… WOW!
If you are into thrillers this is a MUST read. Buy, read, love it!
I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.
